ChatGPT is all you can hear these days. An AI writing tool that has been a hit
With ChatGPT, we thought we hit the jackpot—what could be cooler or better than this will come up.
But to our surprise Google and Microsoft also announced the launch of their AI search tools (Google BARD and Microsoft’s Bing)
I was showing this news of Google’s new AI search tool to one of my seniors, and he replied, “We are finally heading into a complete AI world.”
This made me think: Are we truly into AI now?
On Feb 6, Google announced the release of Google BARD against ChatGPT. Soon, Microsoft will also announce the release of its new AI-powered Microsoft Bing as a copilot for the web.
Buckle up, guys, the AI war is here!
The first Google search engine is still considered a magical discovery. I mean, imagine how cool it would have been back then to be able to obtain information from the depths of the internet.
When both companies launched their new AI-powered search engine, I imagine it was a similar magical feeling.
I mean, when you search for something on the web, you’ll get a very long list of links and suggestions. However, despite the few little changes, the user experience in search has been pretty much the same for years.
As you know, the web search is dead.
Now with the release of the new AI developed by Microsoft and Google, it’s certain that things will fundamentally change how we look for information on the web.
And this, my friend, is a big deal!
What am I getting at? Well, because……..
Microsoft and Google have both invested heavily in artificial intelligence technology to enhance their search engines, and these advancements have the potential to change the way we search for information online.
On Monday, Sundar Pichai announced his company’s plans to bring its new AI technology—LaMDA (Language Model for Dialogue Application)—to Google search. And on Tuesday (yes, the very next day), Satya Nadella- the Microsoft CEO also laid out his company’s new AI version of Bing’s search engine, powered by OpenAI’s ChatGPT technology.
Here, I’m sharing my thoughts about it.
These new AI search engines use sophisticated algorithms to better understand the intent behind a user’s search query, and to provide more relevant and accurate results. The AI algorithms can analyze a vast amount of data, including images, videos, and natural language, to provide a more comprehensive search experience. Additionally, some of these search engines also incorporate voice recognition technology, making it easier for users to search for information hands-free.
The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) technology in search engines has the potential to change the way we search for information online. Microsoft and Google are among the leaders in this field, investing heavily in developing AI-powered search engines.
AI search engines use complex algorithms that can analyze vast amounts of data, including images, videos, and natural language. This enables them to better understand the intent behind a user’s search query, which in turn leads to more accurate results. For example, a user might type in a question in a natural language format, and the AI search engine would understand the meaning behind the question and provide an answer accordingly.
Another advantage of AI search engines is their ability to incorporate voice recognition technology, making it easier for users to search for information hands-free. This can be particularly useful for people who are unable to use a keyboard or mouse, such as those with disabilities. Furthermore, the technology is becoming increasingly advanced, with some AI search engines able to understand the context and history of previous searches, and use that information to provide even more relevant results.
However, AI search engines are still in the early stages of development, and there is still a lot of room for improvement. For example, the technology is still not able to fully understand the nuances of human language, and sometimes provides irrelevant results. Additionally, privacy concerns remain a concern, as AI search engines collect vast amounts of personal data from users.
In conclusion, the integration of AI technology into search engines is likely to change the way we search for information online in the future. The technology has the potential to make searching faster, easier, and more intuitive, but it is important that companies continue to invest in the development of this technology to ensure that it reaches its full potential. Additionally, companies must be mindful of privacy concerns and work to protect user data.
